My friend Robert also has skills for a community garden.  Haz-Matt has contacted the parks and rec regarding building an rc racetrack, and discovered how accommodating they are.  We should call them up and ask.  I'll look into it.  A show of hands of active participants on this tribe would boost my motivation!&#xD;

    <summary type="html">I wonder how to even start the process of opening one ourselves.&#xD;
Find a vacate lot, figure out who owns it (city, back, etc)&#xD;
and then submit a proposal for a community garden.&#xD;
Can we ask the people from this original post how they got started?</summary>

    <summary type="html">Thank you, Jenna.  I posted this LAST year!  hehe.  Well, we went to it, and they didn't really offer us any way to help.  We signed up and no one ever called us.  I would love to participate in some community garden some where, some how!  Any ideas?  there are tons of "vacant lots" in my area of san bernaghetto.......</summary>
