I wonder how to even start the process of opening one ourselves. Find a vacate lot, figure out who owns it (city, back, etc) and then submit a proposal for a community garden. Can we ask the people from this original post how they got started?

Thank you, Jenna. I posted this LAST year! hehe. Well, we went to it, and they didn't really offer us any way to help. We signed up and no one ever called us. I would love to participate in some community garden some where, some how! Any ideas? there are tons of "vacant lots" in my area of san bernaghetto.......
