Ok I may just be complaining but what the hell! What is up with you people? Did joining this group become just another group to add to your list? I myself joined cause I wanted to meet some Inland Empire peeps.....I'm bored to death out here in Riverside, where is everyone?

Sun, May 30, 2004 - 10:43 PMI'm in a musical group that performs with belly dancers most Friday and Saturday nights at a resturaunt called "Babylon's" in Riverside. It used to be "Grapeleaves" a year or so back and is located just east of downtown on Vine. We also performed at the last Orange Blossom Festival and will be performing at Route 66 on Labor day weekend. All seven of us live in the Inland Empire.
So, if you want something to do come on down and support us 909ers!

Tue, June 1, 2004 - 9:56 AMAltadena is not that far away, and the show's timing (7PM+) on a Friday makes getting there not so difficult, since it's "counter-traffic" from the IE.
It would really be nice to see more events here in the IE, but that may be wishful thinking for a while yet. I expect as more people settle out this way, that will change. -

But come out to the Gallery Fri. see some art, meet some people, have a glass of Charlie Shaw. There's also an after party, I would offer to car-pool but I usally spend my weekends in Pasadena. -

Tue, June 1, 2004 - 11:05 PMBabylon's is a great resturant; the food is fantastic, and there's something going on there most nights of the week. The 909 can be a lot of fun - if you're willing to put a little effort out! Isn't fun what you make it, anyway?
I'll have to "pass" on Pasadena, though. I lived there for five years before moving to Yucaipa. I can't hang with the traffic and the crowds. And I kinda like being able to see the stars at night. I've been spoiled! -

Wed, June 2, 2004 - 8:25 AMI hear ya, Charlie. I moved from Hollywood (just back of the Bowl) to the mountains at Crestline. Definitely a change for the better in terms of losing the traffic and noise in exchange for the trees and the (real!) stars.
