Keep trying to plan something...eventually I'll be able to go out and play!

Hey, does anyone live in the Inland Empire because we're bored to tears? Life's constantly moving out here. I think it would be better to plan a get together that includes our busy lifestyles, kids, etc...

Yeah I'd like to think this would be fun. It seems like my days/evenings are full into November. Sometimes my daughter is so busy with sports and scouting. My wife with work and myself with work and school.

So when would be a good time?

Any month works for me, weekend best.

How about the second weekend in November. Meet-up at a restaurant? That way we can meet regardless of the weather. Some place with a varied menu, so everyone can have something they like. We can get a head count. Lunch, Breakfast, Dinner.

Works for me, can we get a general consensus from everyone else?

Trip, the drive in accomodates kids, but who wants to talk during a movie? And the last time I took my son to the drive through, it wasn't fun. And he couldn't even walk yet, but still was irritated being confined to that space. Now he can walk, trying to hold him still in a car will be hell, and trying to keep him with me outside the car will be hysteria (for me, I'd be freaked he'd get run over, nothing like seeing some idiot drunk peeling out and driving really fast in circles around everyone, almost hitting MY CAR in the middle of a movie to leave me a little disenfranchised with that idea, I think it was underworld).

I like the restaruant idea better because we can face each other, talk, blah blah blah. But also might be rough if my son (1 yo) gets hysterical, I doubt it, he is pretty easy to keep happy when there is food in front of him and a lot of people to look at ;)

Or potluck/bbq/picnic I really like because then he can have some freedom to play. But whatever works I'll try, even the drive through, just don't think we'd be there long :)

My favorite restaraunt is IHOP ;), anyone know of restaruants that are big and loud? Like pizza places that expect families with 1 year olds?

Now I got to deal with my little guy who is trying to rub jelly on my laptop. veeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrry funny. But he's still the cutest baby in the WHOLE WORLD.

Oh and Trip, I tend to sign off with a T, so don't confuse people :P T2 on occasion when signing off for my fiancee and myself, since his name starts with a T 2. *snickers*

What about Chuckie Cheese! The Pizza blows, but if people have kids I can live with that.

I think Shakey's has a buffet that we might like. I think their food options are better than Chuckie's but the pizza isn't something I'd tell anyone about.

What other family friendly smorgasborg type of places are there?

Okay so I didn't know about the running over the children concept of the drive in theater. I've also seen some rather close calls but for some reason my head just glossed it over and forgot about it. Strange how things work like that. I do agree with you about how that might be an issue and there is the lack of talking issue.

My vote then is for a picnic/pot luck. My preference is for something late afternoon/early evening because the sun is more tolerable. There are several beautiful locations in the area that I think would be perfectly fine to have a gathering at. Most even have picnic tables and playgrounds (I'm thinking the big park in Riverside). We could even do the catered thing through the restaurant I like. They're very cool people and their food is superb (though that wouldn't be ~as~ potluck).

Thanks for explaining the troubles with the theater concept Talena.

PS: T7 is five values different from T2, I also have a very different writing style and picture. I doubt there will be much confusion. I use the shorthand when it's a small note or a postscript.

Yeah... uh... the drive in accommodates kids. They're free even. Adults are only five bucks a head. The theaters don't have shows that would conflict with any job that isn't graveyard or swing. You can sleep and nobody will notice.

      [shrug]

But then what the hell do I know?
